In a recent interview with Encomium magazine, the BBA winner and TV personality talked about his bitter experience in the hands of people he trusted that almost led him into clinical depression...
"I learnt a lot about loyalty and genuineness. I was really hurt last year year and a lot of true colors were revealed. I battled insolence, pride, treason, ingratitude, leaching, sabotage, and wickedness from people I least expected it from. I guess you have to be careful what you pray for, because I prayed for God to open up the hearts of people I care about. Let's just say if I wasn't spiritually strong with divine premonitions, I would have gone into clinical depression. But I guess I saw signs before but ignored them. God warns me in dreams but I guess I overlook these dreams. The hardest part was that I was and had been used by the most unassuming people and after confronting the issues, the parties act like they don't need you anymore but continuously gain from your platform. In all I learned so much about the human heart and also about myself and my errors. I am stronger (mentally and spiritually) wiser, more comfortable with my skin, more tolerant, gentle and definitely a lot more closer to God.

Car Bomb Explodes in Maiduguri

A car bomb has exploded in Maiduguri, and there are fears of many casualties, the BBC reports. The incident occurred today around 1pm outside the state television offices.

Blood-spattered people were seen fleeing and vehicles crashed into each other, while soldiers fired automatic weapons. A suicide bomber is suspected of being behind the blast, reportedly near a market.

The military confirmed to the BBC that an explosion had occurred, but did not give a figure for casualties. An eyewitness said he had seen what appeared to be dead bodies on the ground. A second car is reported to have been set on fire by the blast

Femi Kuti says he will not be attending the Grammys this year. His elder sister Yeni Kuti will be representing him at the awards which will hold on Sunday January 26th at The Staple Centre in Los Angeles.
Femi Kuti's album, No Place For My Dream was nominated in the Best World Music Album category at the Grammys this year, making it his 4th Grammy nomination. Hopefully, he will win it this year.

Monalisa Chinda Dragged to Court

A former editor with Monalisa Chinda's newly-launched ‘Monalisa’ magazine, Kelvin Keshi, has dragged the Nollywood diva to court.

The plaintiff, Kelvin, who has been in a war with his former boss alleged Mona, as the sultry actress is fondly called, of slander.

He further claimed that the star actress defamed him in an interview she granted City People in 2013, by calling him a ‘half-baked journalist’.

Kelvin’s lawyers, Megafield Solicitors, frowned at Monalisa's statement in the interview and handed out a legal suit notification to the actress on behalf of their client.

According to Nigeriafilms.com, who contacted Monalisa's publicist, the actress and her team were aware of the lawsuit.

“Yes, she's been served and her lawyers are dealing with it appropriately.

“The Kelvin guy is only trying to take advantage of Lisa's (Monalisa) status and soft hearted nature because he's got nothing to lose,” the publicist said.

According to The Times reports, the Chairman of Microsoft Corp, Bill Gates, leads the latest edition of the most admired person in the world rating. U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin are numbers 2 and 3 in the poll.

Bill Gates, who last year regained his title as the world’s richest man, scored highly in each of the 12 countries where YouGov conducted polling.

The world’s billionaire #1 became the most popular among all the contenders in China.

According to the Times, President’s Putin’s popularity among Russians helped him secure third position on the list.

Pope Francis and Sachin Tendulkar, an Indian cricket player who retired in 2013, rounded out the top five.

The survey by YouGov made the rating after polling 14,000 people in the U.K., France, Germany, Russia, the U.S., Australia, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, China, Egypt, Nigeria and Brazil in the poll conducted for the Times newspaper.

P-square Apologize For Bad Performance at Glo Caf Award

 

The whole thing turned embarasing when P-Square got on stage to perform at Glo CAF Awards which held last night at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos State as the sound production went bad and fans started tweeting, expressing their shock.

Yaya Toure named African Footballer of the Year

 

Yaya Toure was named the continent's best footballer once again. The Ivory Coast star was crowned Footballer of the Year by the Confederation of African Football at a ceremony in Lagos yesterday

Toure pipped compatriot Didier Drogba, who plays for Turkish outfit Galatasaray, and Chelsea's Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel to the crown.

The 30-year-old becomes only the second player to win three successive titles, emulating Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, who now plays for Chelsea.

Father hails teenage son for stopping suicide bomber

It was reported earlier today that a teenage boy Aitzaz Hassan stopped a suicide bomber. The father of a Pakistani teenager killed after tackling a suicide bomber Thursday hailed his son for saving "hundreds" of lives through his bravery.

Aitzaz Hassan, aged around 15, died in hospital after stopping the bomber, who blew himself up, at the gates of his school in the northwestern district of Hangu on Monday.

His father Mujahid Ali Bangash, 55, told AFP he felt not sadness but pride at his son's death.

"Aitzaz has made us proud by valiantly intercepting the bomber and saving the lives of hundreds of his fellow students," he said.

"I am happy that my son has become a martyr by sacrificing his life for a noble cause."

Bangash works in the UAE and was only able to reach Ibrahimzai village, which lies in an area of Hangu dominated by minority Shiite Muslims, the day after his son's funeral.

Chris Smalling turns Suicide Bomber ......OMG!

Manchester United and England footballer Chris Smalling has apologised for dressing as a suicide bomber at a fancy dress party. The 24-year-old sparked outrage after being photographed dressed in an Arabic kaffiyeh headdress and military-style vest with a fake circuit board and cables attached.
Smalling claimed the outfit was ‘an attempted comedy play’ on the popular ‘Jagerbomb’ alcoholic drink, which is thought to be why he attached bottles of Jagermeister and Red Bull to his belt as imitation grenades.
The costume has caused fury among survivors and relatives of those affected by terrorist attacks.

Ex-Venezuelan beauty queen Monica Spear KIllers Apprehended

The killers of a Venezuelan soap opera star and former beauty queen are among seven suspects who have been arrested, Venezuela's interior minister said.

The tragic death of Monica and her Ex husband has galvanized the public to turn up the pressure on the government to act on Venezuela's high crime rates.

The victims' 5-year-old daughter witnessed the roadside shooting and suffered a gunshot wound herself, but survived.

No one has been charged yet, but officials say there is evidence linking the suspects to the double homicide.

Teen dies stopping suicide bomber at school in Pakistan

Ninth-grader Aitazaz Hassan Bangash was on his way to the Ibrahimzai School on Monday in the Hangu district of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province when the bomber, dressed in a school uniform, asked him where the school was, the teen's cousin told CNN. Aitazaz and his cousin, Musadiq Ali Bangash, became suspicious, Musadiq said.
"The other students backed off, but Aitazaz challenged the bomber and tried to catch him. During the scuffle, the bomber panicked and detonated his bomb,"

Kwara Deputy Governor's Aide is Dead

The Aide de Camp to the Deputy Governor of Kwara State Mr. Gaya Mark is dead.

Mr. Gaya Mark died at the age of 40. He used to be a police inspector. It was suspected that he died  of cardiac arrest today.

According to the Punch, Mr. Mark had an issue with an unidentified commercial motorcyclist, Okada, who allegedly was about breaking into the Deputy Governor’s convoy near a bank at Illofa Road, Ilorin.
